It is important that the electric drill you use has different speeds, since you will have to select a lower number of revolutions when working the glass. Otherwise, you can cause a breakage.

To drill the glass you will need a suitable drill bit. Among the most commonly used for this purpose are carbide and diamond bits, which are made in the shape of a small shovel.

Measuring tape

Necessary to calculate the exact point where you will make the hole.

Use packing tape or painter's tape. Tape helps keep the glass from shattering.

Before you drill the glass

Place the part on a stable surface that offers full support. Then, with the help of the tape measure, measure the point you want to puncture. The hole should never be less than 25 millimeters from the edge of the glass. Mark the point with the marker and then place two pieces of adhesive tape in an X-shape. This mark should be made on both sides of the glass. Mark the point with the marker.

During the process of perforating the glass

Adjust the drill bit in the drill. Then start drilling slowly, at low speed. Once you get a dent in the glass, increase the speed of the drill a little. As you drill, cool the drill bit and glass occasionally with water, oil or kerosene to prevent them from getting too hot. When you are about to finish your drilling, slow down the drill again, otherwise you may crack the glass.
